Some common fears of stopping drinking are:
- Fear of withdrawal symptoms. Many people believe that they will experience terrible withdrawal symptoms if they stop drinking, such as shaking, sweating, nausea, and vomiting. While it is true that some people do experience withdrawal symptoms, these symptoms are usually mild and only last for a few days. Not only did I not experience any withdrawal symptoms, but I felt much better when I stopped drinking with Allen Carr’s Easy Way.
- Fear of being unable to cope with life without alcohol. Some people believe that they need alcohol to function in everyday life and that they will not be able to handle stress, anxiety, or other difficult emotions without it. However, the truth is that alcohol doesn’t relieve these feelings; it creates them because physical withdrawal, which everyone experiences after drinking alcohol, feels like stress and anxiety. Alcohol is also a depressant and can make it more challenging to cope with stress and anxiety. Stopping with the Allen Carr method, I felt none of this. On the contrary, I feel fantastic!
- Fear of missing out on social activities. Many people worry that they will not be able to participate in social activities if they stop drinking. However, I found this was not the case at all. I enjoy social occasions more by not drinking, including social occasions centered around alcohol. Even with a heavy social calendar, as a nondrinker, you will feel physically and emotionally better and be MUCH more productive.
- Fear of being judged by others. Some people worry that others will judge them if they stop drinking. However, I find that most people don’t care at all if you don’t drink. Most people don’t notice I’m not drinking, and if they do notice, a growing number are interested in stopping themselves and want to know how I do it so effortlessly.
Interesting tidbit: All drinkers are drinking to feel like non-drinkers. Contact me, and I will explain.
